has been a part of Commercial Drive
family life since 1994.
When we - Vanessa Jacobsen and Alison Brewin - opened It's All Fun & Games our goal was to bring classic toys, games and puzzles to a community we love. In the ensuing years we became parents ourselves. We know that family fun isn't defined by tv commercials, or toys created to sell movies, or movies created to sell toys. Fun is in the moments of spontaneous laughter, the quiet concentration of building toys, the rush of affection during a well-played board game.
Our longtime, dedicated, creative and friendly staff - especially Jasmin and Andrew - know you and your families' sense of fun. Everyone who works at It's All Fun and Games lives, plays and goes to school in East Van. It's our home and yours. We get it.
Never fear, parents, your kids will not be inundated with mass market, big box junk when they drag you into our store (though in our experience there isn't a lot of dragging going on on our doorstep). Don't come to It's All Fun and Games looking for electronics, war toys or gender stereotypes. This is a store that makes kids, parents, and kids at heart feel happy.
Come down and visit. We recently moved to 1832 Commercial Drive, closer to Queen Victoria School, Cafe Deux Soleils and the burgeoning fun of the southern part of the Drive. Can't wait to meet you (if we haven't already). |
